C-Mag (Beta Mag) For An AR-15 Assault Rifle

By: Shea Collignon

The Beta Mag (aka: C-Mag) is a drum-type, 100-round magazine (Doublestack), constructed of very strong, military grade plastic, and some metal parts, such as the spring and coupler plate.

The magazine is configured of 2 side-by-side, 50 round, spring loaded compartments, in which the ammunition, when fed through the top, fills simultaneously into both sides, in a spiral formation.

I personally have the honor of owning one of these magazines, which I use for my .223 AR-15 rifle.

I am very pleased by it’s flawless performance and reliability. Once you have handled this piece of equipment, you will see that there is no question to it’s durability.

One of my only gripes is the weight, primarily when loaded. But if you don’t expect 100 rounds of ammunition to cause a significant weight increase, then you should really rethink owning a firearm.

Assuming we are all intelligent people here, I say that if high-capacity magazines are your thing, this is perfect for you!
The price of the Beta Mag, which ranges from $350 to $400, could be it’s only major turn-off. But, as far as the price is concerned, the durable construction, reliability, and consistently perfect performance, you can’t go wrong buying one used, which is what I did.

There are several different variations of this magazine, and it can be found for: M-16/AR-15, M-14/M1-A, and H&K MP-5. There are even some available for Glock handguns, however, they are only legal in certain states. Make sure you know your state’s gun laws before you attempt to own one.
